Mike & Angela

“Do you have the ring?”

That is the LAST question a wedding photographer wants to see/hear the best man ask…especially DURING the ceremony. It’s like kryptonite for the best man to not have the ring. As I frantically searched my pockets (while still taking photos) and replaying the moment over and over of me giving the ring BACK to the groom,  it dawned on me the groom is up to something. All the while the best man was beginning to sweat and not from the humidity.

The morning of the big day and on the way to the wedding it was raining and not just a little shower, but a downpour. With backup plans and contingency plans to use the chapel in case it rained or was too hot,  Angela was  a little disappointed she couldn’t use the Central Texas backdrop of La Hacienda between Dripping Springs and Wimberley, TX. As fate would have it, the clouds parted a little and the rain gave way for a wedding under the grand oaks trees of La Hacienda. The girls went barefoot and the boys wore comfortable shirts, pants and shoes.  My kind of wedding. Relaxed, easy, stress free, genuine and full of practical jokes.

Sure enough, when Mike asked the best man for the ring and he fumbled around his pockets and even checked Mike’s pockets, the groomsman next to the best man produced a diamond. Everyone laughed, the best man punched the groomsman in the arm and they had a ring.

And yes that musician looks exactly like Jon Stewart.

Enjoy!
